N-400FL
THE INSTRUMENT
N-400FL is an epifluorescence microscope that pushes simplicity and cost-effectiveness to levels up to now considered unattainable. The basic structure is dedicated to the most demanding applications of routine fluorescence analysis. However, N400FL offers, in the same unit, brightfield and, optionally, darkfield and phase contrast capabilities, thus extending its potentials to most multi-contrast applications.
STAND
The body is made entirely of metal, with a modern and functional design. It provides sturdy, firm and stable support under all working conditions. The microscope fits a 5-position revolver nosepiece and a large size specimen table. The focussing is performed via two coaxial macro and graduated micrometric knobs (0.002 mm / graduation)
located on both sides of the stand.
OPTICAL SYSTEM
N-400 FL is equipped with a diascopic (transmitted) Kohler illuminator, and with an epi- (reflected) fluorescence excitation source. The epifluorescence optical system is implemented via the standard
excitation filter-dichroic mirror-barrier filter combination, applied to a 100W Hg lamp. It is supplied with WF10x/18 mm widefield eyepieces, four plan-achromatic objectives (4x / 0.1, 10x / 0.25, 40x / 0.65 and 100x / 1.25 oil immersion), a double filterblock set (blue and green excitation). An optional a filterblock set for violet and ultraviolet excitation, and condensers and objectives for darkfield and phase contrast are available. The extensive range of optional
accessories allows a quick interchange of contrast mechanisms, and it is optimized for multi-contrast observation without removal of the specimen from the stage.
TRASMITTED LIGHT ILLUMINATOR
Trinocular head with photo/video port, translating specimen stage, various Petri dish and slide holders are included in the standard accessory equipment: multiple possibilities for a versatile approach to microbiology.
